Psychologist

I'm Kate, a Neurodiverse Psychologist

As a proud neurodiverse mother of two wonderful neurodivergent teenagers, my deep passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families stems from both my lived and clinical experiences. I have worked in various school roles as a School Counsellor and Art Therapist, a TAFE NSW teacher, and a student research supervisor for Art Therapy Master’s students. I also have extensive experience in telehealth and phone formats, enabling me to provide online assessment and intervention when face-to-face options are impractical.

Our work together is a shared journey, and a discovery process I embark on with you. We will create a plan that aligns with your needs, pace, and future dreams. Our work will be shaped by your goals and guided by evidence-based practices.

My goal is to encourage self-understanding, self-compassion, and overall well-being, particularly for individuals who have experienced feelings of misunderstanding or marginalisation. I employ a person-centred, trauma-informed approach that incorporates various therapeutic techniques.

Depending on the right fit for you, our work may combine expressive techniques such as art therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and meditation to enhance self-awareness and regulation. I utilise cognitive and behavioural therapies, including DBT and ACT, to support meaningful change and explore relational dynamics with interpersonal and psychodynamic insights. Strengths-based and solution-focused strategies complement this, underpinned by attachment, family systems, and the impact of schema, values, and beliefs.

I enjoy nature, spending time with my children, befriending animals of all kinds, long walks on the beach with my two Border Collies, and expressing myself through art, music, and dance. These activities keep me grounded and remind me of the value of play, movement, and connection to enhance daily joy. 😊
